Can map turtles eat snails?

I've now come to the realisation I've been trying to treat my turtle like an omnivore instead of a carnivore. I was thinking of raising Ramshorn and Apple snails for it to eat and need to know if they will accept these snails and how quickly they breed to keep the supply of snails up
